AP-1002, is a 32-bit CardBus PC Card with dual 400 Mbps FireWire / IEEE 1394 port. It can enable your portable laptop for high speed external devices. For example, you can only connect to an external USB CD-RW drive at 8X write (must drives only 4X max), and 4X re-write max; but, with an external FireWire CD-RW drive, you may connect at 16X write, and 10X re-write max. This is only one of the many advantage of being FireWire enable. It supports FireWire/1394 devices; such as digital video (DV) camcorders, hard disks, scanners, set-top boxes & other high-tech appliances.
